James Leonard

James is from Cork city’s northside and spent over ten years in addiction which led him to prison.

James eventually managed to beat his addiction and returned to education in 2014 aged 28. He began his education journey with a Level 3 computer literacy course before completing a Level 5 social studies and psychology course in Cork College of Commerce.

He then completed a bachelor’s degree in Youth & Community Work, a master’s degree in Criminology and is now a Ph.D. student at the Department of Sociology & Criminology, University College Cork.

James currently works at Cork Education & Training Board Youth Services and sits on the Board of Directors at Cork Simon Community and Southern Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force.

He also hosts 'The Two Norries Podcast' which provides an educational platform on topics such as addiction, mental health and social issues.
